Staff Accountant
Description We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Overland Park, Kansas. The role primarily entails managing general ledger postings for various accounts, supervising daily liquidity reports, and handling numerous statutory and census reporting. You will work in the accounting industry, dealing with tasks such as processing legal invoices, validating vendor changes, and assisting with audit requests. Please reach out to Molly Gardner for more info! 816-601-1196 Responsibilities: • Manage the general ledger, including posting journal entries and reconciling accounts during the month-end close process • Oversee the scanning and depositing of checks received, as well as preparing the journal entries to post activity to the respective accounts • Perform sales tax analysis and correction to ensure appropriate reclassification for recovery • Prepare company-wide daily liquidity reports summarizing cash balances and outstanding checks to present current cash position • Create annual purchase orders for legal spend through use of a large ERP system, obtain approvals, and process legal invoices received against the purchase orders • Assist in the preparation of various statutory and census reporting as assigned • Validate vendor changes by collecting data from the vendor, verbal confirmation, and then submitting appropriate data to the master data team for update • Assist in preparation of interim, year-end, and private equity owner year-end audit requests as required based on selections by external auditors • Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close processes. Requirements • The applicant must have at least one year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or a similar position. • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required. • The applicant should have experience with Bank Reconciliations. • Familiarity with General Ledger management is necessary. • The applicant must be able to prepare and adjust Journal Entries. • Experience with Month End Close processes is required.
