Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to become part of our team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial data, creating journal entries, and reconciling bank statements. This role is based in DES PLAINES, Illinois, United States and is part of the non-profit sector. Responsibilities: • Manage and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity • Create and maintain journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial statements • Provide support for audits by preparing necessary financial reports and documentation • Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to manage transactions • Perform General Ledger tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting • Prepare and complete Month End Close procedures to finalize financial records • Utilize skills in Bank Reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting • Maintain and utilize intermediate Excel skills for data management and analysis. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting role • Skilled in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Proficient in performing Bank Reconciliations • Experienced in maintaining and updating the General Ledger • Familiarity with recording Journal Entries • Capable of handling tasks related to Month End Close • Able to work independently and within a team setting • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work • Good organizational and time management skills, able to meet deadlines.
