Staff Accountant
Description We are in search of a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. The primary function of this role will be to perform various accounting duties, including reconciling general ledger accounts, assisting with report preparation and submission, processing return deposit checks, and maintaining regulatory compliance within the banking industry. Responsibilities: • Reconcile various general ledger accounts regularly and make adjusting entries as needed • Assist with the preparation and submission of financial reports • Prepare and post journal entries and end-of-month adjustments to the general ledger • Process return deposit checks and communicate with customers when necessary • Ensure proper storage and retention of all entries while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information • Maintain regulatory compliance, including adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act • Participate in ongoing training for professional and personal development • Maintain a positive, professional attitude and contribute to team efforts • Assist in any area as directed by the Accounting Manager Skills: • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Experience with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management • Ability to prepare and adjust Journal Entries • Experience with Month End Close procedures • Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Experience with Bank Reconciliations is required • Familiarity with the General Ledger and Journal Entries is essential • Should have experience in Month End Close procedures • Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is required • Must possess skills in Account Reconciliation • Must have excellent organizational and time-management skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential • Must be able to work effectively in a team and independently • Attention to detail and analytical thinking are necessary for this role • A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
