Description
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join an amazing team outside Burlington, Vermont. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the accounting department, managing financial analysis, budget monitoring, and accounting system development. This individual will also be responsible for coordinating accounting activities with the team and assisting in various accounting areas as needed. Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and manage accounting activities with the team.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports.
• Conduct revenue projections and financial forecasts.
• Monitor and manage budgets in collaboration with the CFO.
• Manage and maintain balance sheets and general ledger.
• Prepare for audits and investigate financial discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Develop and implement new accounting systems and procedures.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to junior accounting staff.
• Handle software implementations or changes as the company grows.
• Demonstrate strong internal customer service within accounting functions.
• Assist in other accounting areas as needed.
Requirements • Possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrable experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Capable of preparing and recording Journal Entries
• Able to perform Month End Close tasks
• Proficient in utilizing QuickBooks for accounting purposes
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Knowledge of standard accounting principles and regulations
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
