Staff Accountant
Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, in the manufacturing industry. The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in supporting our accounting department by providing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting with the accounts payable (AP) process. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with external accounts payable team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of vendor invoices • Monitor the status of open payables, follow up on outstanding invoices, and resolve discrepancies • Support the reconciliation of vendor statements and resolve any variances between vendor records and company ledgers • Collaborate with purchasing and procurement teams to streamline the procure-to-pay process • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing journal entries and accruals • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and other accounts as needed • Assist in the development of financial reports and schedules for internal and external stakeholders • Prepare reports on AP aging, payment status, and vendor activity • Participate in the review and enhancement of accounts payable processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and control • Provide support for internal and external audits, including the preparation of documentation related to accounts payable transactions. Requirements • Candidate must possess a minimum of two years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar within the manufacturing industry. • Must have proven knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). • Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations is requisite. • Proficiency in General Ledger management and Journal Entries is essential. • Experience with Month End Close procedures is required. • Proficiency in using financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is mandatory. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work. • Must have a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. • CPA certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
