Staff Accountant
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the real estate development industry, based in San Diego, California. As a Staff Accountant, you will be involved in various accounting responsibilities, including processing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and maintaining general ledger accounts. You will also play a crucial role in preparing financial reports and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Responsibilities: • Accurately process accounts payable and receivable transactions • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure financial integrity • Maintain and manage general ledger accounts • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports • Handle the billing and collections procedures efficiently • Track all expenditures against approved budgets for assigned projects • Manage petty cash fund and perform monthly reconciliation • Perform technical accounting transactions as required • Monitor special funds and prepare periodic reports • Maintain and track fixed assets Candidates with skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, and proficiency in NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP will be given preference. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position within the Real Estate - Developers industry • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Experience with Bank Reconciliations • Familiarity with the General Ledger and Journal Entries • Ability to manage Month End Close procedures • Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is preferred • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel • Understanding of principles, practices, regulations and procedures related to accounting • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
