Staff Accountant

Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in the Hi Tech Engineering industry, based in Oakdale, Minnesota. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including processing and analyzing financial data, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with audit requests.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up to date.
• Prepare and upload monthly journal entries, keeping track of all financial transactions.
• Conduct thorough account reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
• Collaborate with the HR department to record payroll and ensure all financial data aligns.
• Support audit processes by preparing necessary financial documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Regularly update process documentation for assigned accounting processes, ensuring all procedures are current and compliant.
• Work closely with the finance department to execute various tasks as needed, contributing to overall financial operations.
• Assist with special projects related to accounting processes, providing expertise and support where necessary.
• Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the role.
• Utilize accounting software like NetSuite and Microsoft Excel to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Requirements
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field of accounting or a related field.
• Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations is necessary.
• Should be well-versed in maintaining and managing the General Ledger.
• Competence in preparing and reviewing Journal Entries is required.
• Experience in performing Month End Close activities is a must.
• Familiarity with NetSuite for accounting purposes is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial modeling is required.
• Should be able to work in a fast-paced, high-tech engineering environment.
• Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
