What You Will Do:

The accountant will support the advisory team in providing a blend of financial management related advisory support services to assist the day-to-day federal financial management operations to include technical accounting and financial reporting activities at a federal client.

What You Will Need:

Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, interpreting, and/or analyzing data and developing business requirements for a financial accounting team or similar in a CFO level organization or similar financial / budgeting environment. 

Knowledge of Federal accounting concepts and standards, Federal procurement concepts (including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Act, Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA), Government Management Reform Act (GMRA), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), and relevant Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars and bulletins on financial accounting and internal and system controls

Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and Power Point.

Organizes with the ability to prioritize work and exercise independence judgment, wisdom, and initiative.

Gathers facts and develops clear analyzes and arrives at sound conclusions.

Properly interprets and makes recommendations in accordance with laws, regulations, policies, or other appropriate legal requirements.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Experience with Reimbursables Accounting

Willingness to learn and participate in business development activities and internal firm objectives.

Experience working directly with DHS.

CPA or other federal financial management/accounting certification (e.g., CGFM/CDFM).
