This position is responsible for….

The Staff Accountant will apply US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) of accounting to maintain financial data related to Fixed Assets and other general accounting.  S/he will prepare standard recurring entries, ad hoc entries and prepare monthly account reconciliations.  S/he will assist the US Payroll Manager with certain responsibilities for processing the Company’s bi-weekly, multi-state payroll in accordance with local jurisdictions, state and federal payroll laws, and reporting requirements. S/he may also perform analysis for management and provide deliverables to third parties, such as external auditors during the annual audit.

 

Your day will be very busy… you will:

Completes all US fixed assets functions, including adding, retiring and transferring assets in the fixed assets subledger, completing a monthly fixed assets roll forward, recording internal labor that is capitalized, and assisting with fixed assets physical count.

 

Collaborates cross-functionally with R&D (Research & Development), Engineering, IT (Information Technology) and other departments in recording projects in CIP (Construction in Progress) and determining when these assets should be placed in service.

 

Performs monthly close duties including standard and ad hoc journal entries related to assigned areas of responsibility which may include fixed assets, prepaids, and other accruals.

 

Prepares accurate GL (General Ledger) account reconciliations and ensure that open items are resolved in a timely manner.

 

Assists with the annual external audit by preparing audit support as requested.

 

Assists with processing the bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for salaried, hourly, and commissioned employees, including exempt and non-exempt employees and at times, will process payroll independent of the assistance of the Payroll Manager.

 

Assists Payroll Manager to ensure data within the payroll system remains accurate by working with HR (Human Resources) and department managers.

 

Collaborates with the Accounting team members to complete cash transactions which fund payroll, retirement and medical accounts, and remit payroll taxes as needed.

 

Completes administrative functions including check printing and depositing and assists with ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.

 

What your background will be:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline is required. 3+ years of accounting or related experience is required. Knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance is preferred. Experience processing multi-state payroll is required. Proficient computer skills, including web browser/internet search, MS Outlook, Word and Excel capabilities to include VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables and the ability to learn new software and systems is required. Proficiency in the use of Oracle, or similar ERP system is required. Strong analytical and technical skills are required. Strong computerized accounting skills and advanced spreadsheet skills; proficiency in the use of Oracle or similar ERP system is required. Experience with UltiPro/UKG and UltiPro/UKG Business Intelligence is highly preferred.

Salary/Pay Range:

$74,000.00 - $90,000.00

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary/pay across all US locations. Actual pay is based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographical location, work experience, skill set, relevant trainings and certifications, and business needs. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  This role may also be eligible for [bonus, commission, equity, etc.
