The Staff Accountant assists with a variety of projects to support management initiatives in a centralized accounting environment providing MHK accounting and operational support. This position is located at the MHK corporate office in Tampa, Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, code, and coordinate Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable invoices and billing Collect and submit new supplier paperwork Investigate invoice or general ledger discrepancies and propose solutions Maintain proper controls to ensure completeness & accuracy of incoming and outgoing payments Prepare and post monthly journal entries, adjusting and recurring as needed Research and prepare monthly account reconciliations and analysis Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial transactions Generate and distribute key reporting and other analyses to key stakeholders Communicate with key personnel on status of open projects and other requests Create and maintain documentation of department processes and procedures Assist with internal and external audits Prepare ad hoc reports and perform other related duties as assigned or requestedSkill Requirements:
1-2 years of professional Accounting/Finance experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills Experience with Oracle ERP preferred Strong attention to detail, ability to work efficiently with large volumes of transactions Ability to recognize problems and develop or suggest solutions Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Highly motivated, quick learner and a self-starter Ability to work with accuracy and meet deadlines Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment Ability to operate with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish directives Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of peers, management and external partiesEducation/Certification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceAdditional Requirements:
