Staff Accountant
Lodge Management Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team! The Staff Accountant will reconcile and verify invoices within the finance department. They will also be responsible for paying company bills and ensuring that financial statements include the correct information. A successful candidate will have a mix of organizational and analytical skills. They should be able to work out numbers, generate reports and find discrepancies as well as cost-saving opportunities. www.lmgchicago.com Essential Functions and Responsibilities: + Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare, verify, and control journal entries to the general ledger. + At least monthly, reconciles balance sheet accounts, investigates discrepancies, makes corrections as needed, and completes analysis and reporting on budget variances: + Collect W-9 forms and verify they are fully and properly executed for new vendors. + Reconcile supplier statements against AP transactions in system. + Prepare and file 1099 forms. + Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs + Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors + Analyzing workflow processes + Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors + Processing invoices for payments + Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts + Additional accounting duties as needed. Requirements Qualifications for Staff Accountant + High school diploma. associate's degree in Accounting preferred. + 2-3 years experience with accounts payable or general accounting + Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills + Strong time management and organizational skills + Knowledge of basic accounting principles + High degree of attention to detail + Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks + Strong analytic abilities Benefits LMG offers a rich insurance package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life), 401K, venue discounts, and competitive pay.
