Staff Accountant
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the industry, based in Oxnard, California. As a Staff Accountant, you will leverage your hands-on accounting experience and in-depth understanding of accounting principles to perform complex accounting activities and financial analyses. Responsibilities: • Conduct detailed analyses of complex financial reports and records • Guide clerical staff in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) by coordinating activities and clarifying queries • Review and verify accuracy of journal entries made by entry level accountants • Train and mentor entry level staff members on accounting principles and company practices • Perform variance analyses and account reconciliations on a regular basis • Assist in conducting financial and tax audits • Maintain accounting controls by recommending policies and procedures • Contribute to team effort by achieving related results as needed • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for all accounts and maintain integrity of cash balances and cash flow systems • Document and monitor internal controls in support of the auditing team • Participate in coordinating complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments • Maintain fixed asset records and control; determine depreciation terms/rates to apply to capitalized items • Prepare and analyze financial information to make entries to accounts, such as the general ledger • Audit contracts and purchase orders, advising changes as per accounting principles to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement • Ensure financial security by following internal controls and keeping financial information confidential • Assist the Manager in coordinating audits and preparing schedules and documents for outside auditors Requirements • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) • Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) • Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations • Familiarity with maintaining General Ledger • Proficiency in creating Journal Entries • Experience with Month End Close procedures • Ability to conduct Inventory Analysis Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
