Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform general ledger activities, handle accounts payable and receivable, process payroll, and manage fixed asset schedules. Additionally, the Accountant will assist with special projects and prepare ad hoc reports, ensuring timely and accurate assistance to internal and external customers.
ResponsibilitiesPerform general ledger activities including journal entries, monthly closing tasks, and preparation of monthly supporting schedules.Review and check general ledger postings on labor, material costs, operating expenses, inventory, and other adjustments impacting profit and loss.Process invoices to customers and handle customer credit memos.Follow up with customers on short/overpayment of invoices and past due invoices.Assist in accounts payable department by entering invoices, obtaining approval, and processing payments.Process accounts receivable deposits, including physical checks and electronic deposits.Process payroll for designated locations.Assist in the management of fixed asset schedules.Extract, analyze, and organize large amounts of data for reconciliation and work center recording.Research and follow up on reconciling items found during the reconciliation process.Ensure that internal and external customers receive timely and accurate assistance.Cross-train in other areas of the accounting department.Work on special projects and prepare ad hoc reports.Perform other duties as assigned by management.Essential SkillsProficiency in general ledger activities and month-end closing tasks.Experience with accounts payable and receivable processes.Strong skills in Excel, particularly with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.Experience with journal entry and reconciliation.Ability to analyze and organize large amounts of data.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with QuickBooks is preferred.Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.Work Environment
This position is based in the office with the flexibility to work from home one day a week. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility. The work environment includes a team of 33 people at the Moorpark site, with 30 people in the warehouse and 3 in the office. The Accountant will report to the Finance Manager based in Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.60 - $29.80
