We are seeking a Staff Accountant who is a team player, interacts effectively with others, can operate in a fast-paced environment, and wants to be challenged and part of the growth at Regeneron. This role will perform accounting duties related to the Company’s Cash and Investments portfolio as well as other Corporate accounting areas. This is a highly visible position that will work directly with members of the Accounting team, the Treasury team, and other key stakeholders. Responsibilities will include the timely completion of activities within the monthly/quarterly close timelines, e.g., cash activity interface, preparation of journal entries, expense and balance sheet account analyses, and financial disclosure support. The Staff Accountant will review the control policies and procedures that pertain to the relevant areas of responsibility and ensure that these internal control policies and procedures are followed.
This role is based at Regeneron's Corporate offices in Sleepy Hollow, NY, hybrid with 3 days required onsite per week - this role is not open to fully remote work arrangements
A typical da may include:
Lead the accounting of the Company’s global cash and investment processes.Through system interfaces, record the monthly activity related to bank and investment accounts.Work directly with the Treasury function of the Company to ensure complete and accurate accounting.Perform monthly bank reconciliations, including the recording of various journal entries.Compile and present financial information to key stakeholders, including accounting management.Assist with the preparation of multiple SG&A expense schedules and balance sheet account reconciliations.Work directly with Finance to ensure completeness and accuracy of accruals and reclasses.Ensure compliance with the Company’s Prepaid Expense Accounting Policy.Perform additional expense and balance sheet analyses for other G&A areas.Perform fluctuation analyses and prepare responses for Management.Responsible for ensuring compliance with documented financial reporting and other related controls and updating related documents as necessary to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.Support internal and external audit with requests, as needed.Provide assistance to other departments within the organization with specific requests or initiatives related to area of responsibility.Assist with other special projects, analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives, as needed.This role may be for you if you:Have a solid understanding of accounting principles with the ability to effectively apply them to work performed.Have strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze large amounts of dataHave excellent written and verbal communications skillsAre a team player, interacts effectively with others, can think independently and proactively propose solutions, and wants to be challenged and grow with our company.Have experience with financial applicationsTo be considered for this role you must possess a Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting with 2+ years of accounting experience. Public accounting experience and CPA license a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, required. Experience with Reval, Clearwater, Oracle GL, FCCS, Smartview and Hubble a plus.
