SummaryThe Staff Accountant assists the Accounting Manager in the daily, weekly, and monthly activities related to essential accounting and reporting functions for the Florida region. This position works closely with the AR and AP departments as well as with the branch operations. The ideal candidate is a reliable, trustworthy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where both collaboration and autonomy are valued.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear. Standing or sitting for extended periods of time may be required.Lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. is expected.The noise level is usually moderate.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Review new projects set up on ERP system for completeness and consistency with contract terms.Set up AP new vendors.Daily cash reconciliationsProcess intercompany transactionsAssist with month-end closing entries, including allocations and accrualsBalance sheet account reconciliationsReview of general ledger details for assigned branchesAssist with the preparation of sales & use tax on monthly basisAssist in gathering documentation for external auditorsOther duties may be assignedRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (may consider someone working towards degree if they have relevant experience)0-3 years of relevant experienceExperience with various functional accounting processesExperience with ERP systems and Microsoft applicationsSkilled in use of Excel pivot tables and look up functionsStrong attention to detailTeam oriented with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skillsValid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification).Who We Are: UES provides essential engineering services for some of the most prominent and significant projects in the nation.
