Staff Accountant

One of Aston Carter's top clients, a publicly-traded world leader in lithium technology, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their corporate accounting team in Philadelphia. As part of the Chief Accounting Officer’s organization, this role is responsible for performing monthly accounting activities as well as supporting standardization, process improvement, and optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Execute business unit accounting activities, including:Working within various ledgers in SAPPreparing journal entriesPerforming account reconciliations using Blackline softwarePerforming other account analyses as requiredExecuting financial reporting close activities in accordance with the month-end close calendar and checklistReconciling intercompany transactions domestically and internationallyPromptly respond to requests from internal and external stakeholdersSupport internal and external audit activitiesIdentify process improvement opportunities and technology enablers, and contribute to improvement projects as requestedEnsure compliance with US GAAP policies, procedures and internal control environment Proactively take ownership of workload and escalate issues timelyProactively monitor and achieve deadlines, and communicate instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashionAssist with the creation and modification of training programs and content (as needed)

Must-Have Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance2+ years of experience within a US GAAP setting with functions related to month end close such as journal entries and reconciliations2+ years of experience working with SAP 2+ years of experience with creating pivot tables, vlookups, data manipulations and advanced formulas within Microsoft ExcelExperience working in a manufacturing setting

Nice-To-Have Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in a publicly-traded or global organization Experience working in FI, BPC Consolidation, and blacklineExperience working in a chemical manufacturing setting

Competencies:

Inquisitive nature, with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-starter with strong organizational skillsKnowledge and understanding of US GAAPSystem skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP FI, BPC Consolidation, BlacklineProven ability to function effectively in a team environmentDemonstrated interpersonal communication skillsAttention to detail

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00
