Staff Accountant
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in LOUISVILLE, Kentucky. This role is primarily involved in the finance sector and will require you to handle a range of accounting tasks including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, as well as assisting in the closing process for month end, quarter end, and year end. Responsibilities: • Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations, specifically relating to cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll. • Conduct monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting. • Assist with the closing process at the end of each month, quarter, and year, including the preparation of financial close workbooks. • Utilize accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to manage financial data. • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date. • Maintain an accurate record of all financial transactions in the general ledger. • Ensure the correct usage and management of accounts receivables systems. Requirements • Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role. • Proficiency in use of accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. • Demonstrated experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. • Knowledge of accounts receivables systems. • Experience in bank reconciliations and maintaining a general ledger. • Ability to prepare journal entries and perform month end close tasks. • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles. • Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers. • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. • Strong organizational and time-management skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
