Description Robert Half is seeking to hire a Degreed Staff Accountant in Texas City, TX for a thriving accounting department. This role is currently hiring local talent as this position is 100% in office, offered as a contract to hire opportunity. Our client is actively interviewing and is immediately seeking to extend an offer to an exceptional candidate. Day to Day duties, but not limited to the following responsibilities: + Maintain and control general ledger accounts and transactions. + Prepare, record, and process accounts payable and cash disbursements. + Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts such as accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accrued expenses. + Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements. + Participate in annual audit and tax filing process. + Perform variance analysis and prepare account reconciliations. + Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes. + Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. + Identify areas of improvements in internal processes and propose changes. Requirements + Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. + Proven working experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role. + CPA or CMA preferred but not required. + Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, especially strong in Excel. + Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. + Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational ability. + Effective communication skills.
