Description
We are offering a contract for a Staff Accountant position in OWINGS MILLS, Maryland, United States. In this role, you will be expected to perform a wide range of accounting tasks, including processing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations, conducting weekly revenue and cash reconciliation, and supporting inventory account reconciliations.
+ Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and prepare required adjustments to maintain financial accuracy.
+ Process general ledger journal entries as part of the monthly accounting cycle with precision and timeliness.
+ Execute weekly revenue and cash reconciliation tasks, ensuring seamless integration into the Oracle ERP system.
+ Prepare and analyze monthly B2C sales reports, recording associated journal entries for accurate financial reporting.
+ Conduct bank reconciliations and manage foreign currency translations to support global financial operations.
+ Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring compliance with deadlines and accounting standards.
+ Assist with inventory account reconciliations and implement related adjustments as necessary.
+ Review and approve coding for Accounts Payable (AP) invoices and Purchase Orders (POs) to ensure alignment with accounting policies.
+ Serve as a backup for fellow accounting team members and actively participate in special projects and process improvements.
Requirements • Minimum of two years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and related duties
• Demonstrated experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with maintaining and updating the General Ledger
• Expertise in preparing and posting Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Proficient in using Oracle or similar accounting software
• Skilled in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation tasks
• Capable of making accurate Account Adjustments
• Knowledgeable in Process Adjustments according to company policies
• Experience in Year End Closings, including audit support and compliance
• Familiarity with Inventory Accounting and related controls and procedures
