Description We are offering a contract to permanent opportunity for a Staff Accountant position in Galveston, Texas. The role is within the private lending industry and will involve maintaining and updating accounting documents and ensuring financial compliance measures are met. Responsibilities: • Undertake the preparation and maintenance of accounting records, ensuring they are accurate and updated regularly. • Handle the reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable. • Update and maintain the general ledger effectively. • Oversee the preparation and submission of weekly/monthly reports. • Assist senior accountants during monthly/yearly closings. • Participate in other accounting projects as needed. • Review and implement financial policies to ensure compliance. • Perform monthly bank settlements efficiently. • Maintain an accurate record of all financial transactions. • Ensure receipts and bank statements are updated regularly. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) • Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR) • Expertise in performing Bank Reconciliations • Ability to manage General Ledger • Experience in preparing Journal Entries • Proven ability to handle Month End Close procedures • Knowledge of VLOOKUP function • Proficiency in creating and managing Pivot Tables • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel -Banking/Real Estate/Mortgage background is a PLUS Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
