Description Chris Preble from Robert Half has a Syracuse client in search of a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for helping to manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and providing accurate financial information for business decision making. This is with an organization that has doubled in size the past year and will double in size next year due to all the business they have. There's a lot of opportunity for growth here. Responsibilities: • Helping to manage daily accounting activities including journal entries, general ledger accounts, and monthly reconciliations. • Overseeing invoicing, payments, and collections, as well as reconciling accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy. • Assisting in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance and variance analysis. • Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, preparing tax filings, and assisting with audits as necessary. • Identifying opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implementing improvements. • Staying updated on industry trends and best practices. • Working closely with other departments to gather and analyze financial data. • Providing support for special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.
