Job Description
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
ResponsibilitiesReview financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance.Prepare and file tax returns.Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.Handle billing and payroll duties.Enter accounting-related information into business logs.Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy.Organize and update financial records.Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.Perform monthly bank reconciliations.Prepare documentation for external auditors.Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.Conduct month-end and year-end closures.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is friendly and has a family atmosphere. The team often enjoys catered lunches, and the company size allows for close working relationships with all team members. This role offers direct interaction with the CFO and opportunities for growth into supervisory roles. Working hours are generally from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with some flexibility. The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $73000.00
