Staff Accountant **Mulgrew Oil & Propane** 1 Positions ID: 60101 Posted On 01/15/2025 **Job Overview** As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in the finance department, supporting various accounting functions to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves working closely with the accounting team to maintain financial records, analyze financial data, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare monthly reconciliation and analysis of Balance Sheet accounts. + Prepare period end journal entries as required. + Prepare financial variance & trend analysis of major cost drivers. + Prepare and maintain fixed assets schedules. + Perform bank account and credit card account reconciliations. + Assist preparing tax returns and monthly tax reporting + Support billing and accounts payable procedures as assigned. + Understanding financial audit protocol and processes. Assist Manager Finance & Accounting and CFO with all audit requests from external auditors. + Assist management with ad hoc projects. + Will maintain ongoing industry knowledge through continuing education supported by company sponsored opportunities or personal initiatives. + Supports ongoing process improvement by utilizing OFI system and participating in process improvement teams. + Must comply with all GAAP and stated company policies and safety practices.
