Staff Accountant
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Jacksonville, Florida. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our finance team, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This role involves a wide range of tasks, including processing financial data, maintaining financial records, conducting bank reconciliations, and providing guidance to entry level staff. Responsibilities: • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records in line with corporate accounting standards. • Conducting efficient and accurate bank reconciliations to validate financial data. • Utilizing your understanding of financial reports to provide useful insights to management for strategic decision-making. • Supporting tax preparation and compliance initiatives by adhering to relevant regulations. • Providing guidance and support to entry level accounting staff, promoting best practices and detail oriented development. • Collaborating with various teams to aid in financial planning and analysis initiatives. • Regularly updating your knowledge of governmental accounting regulations and standards. • Leveraging Excel for effective data analysis, report generation, and maintenance of financial records. • Managing debit and credit entries effectively to ensure accurate bookkeeping. Requirements • The applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role. • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required. • The applicant should be skilled in Bank Reconciliations. • Familiarity with General Ledger management is essential. • The candidate should have experience with Journal Entries and Month End Close. • Proficiency in utilizing QuickBooks is a must • The applicant must demonstrate a strong ability in Account Reconciliation. • Experience in Cash Reconciliations is necessary. • The candidate should have a good understanding of Credit Card Reconciliation. • Daily Reconciliation skills are highly desirable. • The applicant should have the ability to manage Month-end Journal Entries. • Familiarity with Journal Entry tasks is required. • The candidate must be experienced in Posting Journal Entries.
