Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the insurance industry based in New York. As a Staff Accountant, you will be tasked with a variety of accounting functions, ranging from handling Accounts Payable to managing bank and cash reconciliations. Responsibilities: • Accurately process and manage Accounts Payable (AP) • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy • Execute cash reconciliations to ensure correct cash flow • Participate in the month-end close process, ensuring timely completion • Utilize Great Plains Dynamics for various accounting tasks • Leverage Excel for data management and analysis. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role • Proficiency in Excel is essential • Experience with Great Plains Dynamics software is highly desirable • Demonstrated ability in handling Accounts Payable (AP) • Proven capability in performing Bank Reconciliations and Cash Reconciliations • Familiarity with Month End Close procedures is required • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
