Responsibilities

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to play a critical role in the success of IGT’s accounting organization. Reporting to the North America Controller, the Staff Accountant will be “hands on” with direct responsibility for daily accounting and operations, month and quarter-end close and reporting, as well as being a key contributor to various projects. The selected candidate must also be an advocate for process improvement, transparency, teamwork, and maintaining high quality work product within the department. The selected candidate will be self-motivated and detail-oriented. This position must build successful relationships interacting cross-functionally and successful manage a variety of assignments.

 

Responsibilities
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the North America Lottery controllership responsibilities and monthly close process, ensuring transactions are properly and accurately accounted for, reconciling general ledger accounts, and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are followed.  The selected candidate will have a strong work ethic, desire to learn and develop, and willingness take on new responsibilities. 

 

Hands-on, day-to-day accounting operations, including:

Preparation of journal entries in a variety of areas Account reconciliations with relevant supporting documentation Assist and support various functional areas with North America controllership related requests and issues Assist with reporting and analyzing financial information on a monthly basis Assist with reporting and analyzing certain information supporting financial statement disclosures (under US GAAP and IFRS) Assist, prepare, and support the execution and documentation of internal controls activities including retention of control support as well as annual/periodic review and updates to SOX process documentation. Assist and support internal and external audit requests Ad hoc reporting and projects as needed, supporting the North America Controller and the broader North America controllership organization
  Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across the organization Strong organizational skills enabling simultaneous management of multiple projects Self- motivated, results-oriented with ability to take initiative in a diverse organization Comfortable in a fast-paced environment  Detail oriented

 

Preferred Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting required 2+ years of relevant experience, public accounting experience a plus Proficient in MS Excel and Office; SAP experience a plus Experience within a multinational publicly traded business, a plus Highly detail oriented and organized in work; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $50,482 - $115,000. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program.  Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses .  In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
