Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in WADSWORTH, Ohio. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the finance industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing various accounting tasks including the preparation of reconciliations, period closes, and projections. You will also play a crucial role in recording, classifying, and examining records of financial transactions. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation of reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance • Manage period closes efficiently and in a timely manner • Conduct audit processes as part of the accounting function • Prepare projections based on financial data and trends • Record financial transactions in line with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) • Classify records of financial transactions for ease of access and reference • Examine financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness • Handle accounts payable and receivable collections to maintain positive cash flow • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and financial reporting • Keep general ledger updated and prepare journal entries • Conduct month-end close processes and prepare balance sheets. Requirements • Possess at least 3 years of experience in the field of accounting. • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). • Experience in performing bank reconciliations. • Demonstrable knowledge of General Ledger management. • Ability to record and manage journal entries. • Experience in Month End Close processes. • Proven experience in auditing. • Capability to manage and analyze balance sheets. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. • Sound knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles.
