Job Description
The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing all daily receipts related to customers' payments and monitoring the accounts receivable schedule on a weekly basis. This position performs a range of general bookkeeping and accounting support functions for the department.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare and post daily deposits for three locations.
+ Process credit card payments, virtual check payments, wire payments, and ACH payments.
+ Create invoices and credit notes for customers and prepare monthly statements.
+ Manage accounts receivable and collect payment for overdue invoices.
+ Create daily reports and coordinate internal and external RMAs.
+ Investigate and resolve customer queries.
+ Work closely with Customer Service and Commercial departments for account payments.
+ Act as a backup for Accounts Payable as needed.
+ Record and store deposits paperwork.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
+ BS/BA required in a related field.
+ 4-5 years of experience in accounting, including GL, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
+ Microsoft Office experience with strong Excel skills (Pivot Table, V Lookups).
+ ERP experience, Sage preferred.
+ Credit and Collections experience required.
+ Strong knowledge of general accounting principles.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an eye for detail.
+ Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong time-management skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
+ Strong knowledge of general accounting principles.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment
The work environment includes reading and writing work-related documents in English, operating a computer and other standard office equipment, and communicating information and ideas effectively. The role requires remaining in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for prolonged periods. Occasionally, the employee may need to lift and carry up to 25 pounds unassisted. This is an in-office role with no remote work initially, but a hybrid schedule may be offered after approximately four months, allowing for two days of work from home. The typical workday is 8.5 hours with a 30-minute lunch break, typically from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
