STAFF ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team at our Horseshoe Black Hawk, CO property. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Director and Finance team in preparing and reviewing accounting records within a regulated environment.

What You Will Do: 

Create journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by accountants Responsible to create and maintain monthly detailed complex spreadsheets Knowledge of SOX to prepare schedules for testing Preparation of accounting records as required, including detailed summaries of required accounting entries in support of internal or external needs Preparation of cashbook records, including reconciliations Review of cashbook records, including reconciliations and identifying variances to investigate Prepares monthly statements by collecting data; analyzing and investigating variances; summarizing data, and information Supports and monitors revenue audit, payroll and accounts payable functions. Provide training and feedback on performance to revenue audit, payroll and accounts payable support staff through coaching and evaluation Prepared to meet with regulatory bodies, internal auditors, and external auditors regarding processes Accomplishes finance and organization mission by compliance with all regulations Prepared to cover for and support their colleagues when required Build team collaboration and work as cohesive unit Lead and coach direct reports

What You Will Need:

2 – 4 years of gaming accounting experience Degree in Accounting or related field a huge plus Understands finance and has experience working in an accounting function Experience with office work, preferably in a gaming or casino environment Diligent and with an eye for detail  Advanced MS Excel skills, macro knowledge a plus  Working knowledge of Oracle accounting software a plus  Ability to work independently  High Accuracy Ability to demonstrate initiative Aware of regulations to adhere to for compliance

 Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit for extended periods                                           Must be able to type and talk on the phone for extended periods                                      Regular attendance in the office
