Job Title: Project Accountant

Job Description

One of Aston Carter's clients, a family-owned industrial contractor, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Accountant with strong experience in GL Accounting, AP, and construction accounting to join their team. This role requires proficiency in month-end close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement analysis, and payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have intermediate Excel skills and experience with larger ERP systems.

ResponsibilitiesHandle cost accounting and job costingEnter daily AP invoices, reconcile vendor statements, and update job costsConduct balance sheet account analysis and propose adjustmentsPerform daily and monthly account reconciliationsReview financial statements and identify problem areasUnderstand and manage Sales and Use Taxes, including monthly and quarterly reportingAnswer phone inquiries and direct callsManage and maintain filing systemsProduce reports and support presentation materialsMaintain loan schedulesProcess payroll and serve as backup payroll person if neededEssential Skills5+ years of GL Accounting experience5+ years of AP experience handling 50+ invoices a week3+ years of construction accounting experience2+ years of payroll processing experienceIntermediate Excel skills, including SUM formulas and spreadsheet formattingExperience with larger ERP systemsAdditional Skills & QualificationsSage100 ERP experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related fieldWork Environment

You will work closely with the office manager, CFO, and AR Clerk in a 100% onsite role. The work hours are Monday to Friday, 7am – 3:30pm, with some flexibility if needed. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
