Description About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with essential hotel experience to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the daily accounting operations of the hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with all relevant regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of hotel accounting practices and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Responsibilities: + Manage the daily revenue audit process, ensuring accuracy and identifying any discrepancies. + Reconcile daily cash deposits and credit card transactions. + Process and record accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals. + Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis. + Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights into hotel performance. + Maintain accurate and organized accounting records. + Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts. + Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies. + Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations. + Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. + Stay up-to-date on current accounting practices and hotel industry regulations. + Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements + experience with hotel accounting is mandatory. + Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
