Description Our client in North County is actively searching for a meticulous and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing team. In this versatile role, you will leverage your accounting skills to conduct daily financial operations, including managing the general ledger, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent analytical skills, allowing them to support month-end closes and handle reconciliations with efficiency and precision. Responsibilities: + Maintain and reconcile the general ledger by performing daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries. + Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. + Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all related tasks are completed by deadlines. + Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, identifying discrepancies and resolving them promptly. + Support audits and tax preparation efforts by ensuring all financial information is accurate and well-documented. + Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal controls to maintain the integrity of financial records. + Analyze financial data and identify trends to assist with forecasting and budgeting processes. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. + 2+ years of accounting experience; CPA eligibility or progress toward designation is a plus. + Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred). + Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. + Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
