Description We are providing an opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in the retail industry, located in Vista, California. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity where the Staff Accountant will be responsible for handling both Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes, managing customer and vendor accounts, and assisting with month-end closing activities. Responsibilities: • Handle and accurately post customer payments received via various modes to customer accounts • Oversee and manage customer accounts to ensure payments are made in a timely manner and reduce delinquent accounts • Conduct reconciliation of customer accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly, this includes issuing refunds and credit memos • Manage credit hold releases, and communicate effectively with customers and salespersons regarding the reasons for order holds • Engage with customers regarding overdue invoices through phone, email or mail while maintaining professionalism • Assist with customer phone calls and manage AR inbox • Establish new customer accounts and maintain current customer records • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation of AR accounts • Oversee accounts payable processes, including managing vendor payments and tracking expenses • Respond to inquiries regarding any outstanding invoices, communicate with vendors and maintain good relationships • Set up new vendor accounts and maintain current vendor records • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation of AP accounts • Assist with vendor phone calls and manage AP inbox • Support the accounting team members as needed • Maintain sales tax exemptions information of the company and customers through Avalara Sales Tax • Assist in month-end closing activities related to AR and AP. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations, including invoice processing, vendor management and payment scheduling • Demonstrated expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR), with skills in billing, generating invoices, and managing customer payments • Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and transparency • Solid understanding of General Ledger management, including posting entries, maintaining records, and verifying financial information • Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries, ensuring accurate reflection of company's financial transactions • Familiarity with Month End Close procedures, including preparation of financial statements and reports • Proficiency in using NetSuite for various accounting and financial operations • Experience in Collections, including managing overdue accounts, negotiating payments and maintaining customer relationships Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
