Staff Accountant
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in McLean, Virginia for a Staff Accountant. This role operates within the accounting industry and is set in a detail-oriented workplace. The Staff Accountant will be tasked with maintaining financial procedures and ensuring all accounting activities are conducted accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage Accounts Payable (AP) operations, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and on time. • Handle Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, cash collection, and revenue recognition. • Perform bank reconciliations regularly to maintain accurate financial records. • Maintain the General Ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly. • Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process. • Utilize various accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for financial management and reporting. • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards. • Collaborate with other team members to improve and streamline accounting processes. • Analyze financial data and generate reports as needed. • Stay updated with industry trends and current accounting standards. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices • Expertise in managing Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoice generation, payment collection, and overdue account handling • Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations to verify the company's records against bank statements • Knowledge in maintaining and managing the General Ledger, ensuring accurate representation of all financial transactions • Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries accurately and timely • Familiarity with Month End Close procedures, ensuring all financial data are accurately recorded and reconciled before the period ends • Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting and financial management • Experience in Oracle for managing and processing financial data • Knowledge in QuickBooks for managing all accounting operations, including AP, AR, and bank reconciliations • Familiarity with SAP for financial accounting and reporting.
