Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing and reviewing the company's financial information in compliance with GAAP and consistent with the company's procedures. This position performs most general accounting tasks under the review of the VP of Finance.

ResponsibilitiesManage the monthly closing process in a timely mannerPrepare journal entriesReconcile accounts, including Cash & intercompanyReview accounts reconciled by other staffPrepare financial statements and reportsSupport staff with bill payments and cash collectionsTrack and maintain fixed assetsAssist the VP Finance with the documentation and maintenance of processes and procedures for the Accounting functionSupport during the interim and year-end auditsCollect and analyze operational costsDevelop, implement, and analyze cost standardsSupport other company staff as neededPerform other duties as assignedEssential SkillsDemonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skillsUtilizes accounting system, billing system, spreadsheet, and presentation softwarePerform various complex account analyses and reconciliationMaintains records retention log to facilitate the orderly file system of permanent records for adherence to record retention policyExperience with reconciliation, journal entries, month-end processes, accounts payable, and financial statementsFull ownership of the month-end processAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in manufacturing or a similar industry is highly preferredProficiency in QuickBooksExperience with companies of similar revenue size (approximately $40 million in revenue)Work Environment

The work environment is a chemical manufacturing office. The team consists of 5 people: the CFO, the Senior Financial Analyst, two accountants, and the Staff Accountant. The culture is collaborative, with a strong 'all-in' attitude where everyone helps with everything. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.26 - $39.00/hr.
