Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Baltimore, Maryland. This role will focus on inventory counts and accounting. The workplace is an office-based environment where you will be coordinating with plant personnel, maintaining inventory records, and supporting accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Coordinate with plant personnel on cycle counts, quarter-end counts, and year-end inventory to ensure adherence to policies. • Identify, record, and address any issues found during inventory counts promptly. • Conduct detailed analysis to determine the root cause of recurring and one-off inventory issues and implement appropriate solutions. • Accurately record all inventory adjustments in the ERP system. • Assist with preparing and posting accounting journal entries related to the site. • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance inventory controls onsite. • Collaborate with other departments, including Shipping and Receiving, to optimize material flows across the site and minimize inefficiencies. Requirements • The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar. • Proficiency in auditing is required. • Strong communication skills are essential. • Knowledge and experience with inventory cycles is necessary. • Ability to perform inventory analysis is a must. • Experience with inventory audits is required. • Familiarity with inventory accounting is crucial. • The candidate should be able to prepare and analyze inventory reports. • Experience with year-end closings is necessary. • The candidate should possess the ability to prepare and post journal entries. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
