Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Carmel, Indiana, to join our client's team in the Non-Profit sector. This role involves a variety of accounting functions and the preparation of associated reports for participating corporations and chapters. Responsibilities • Oversee and manage the accounts payable process on a weekly basis. • Ensure accurate and timely member billing and manage chapter billing including empty bed fees, housing flex fees, and rent. • Accurately record deposits and complete weekly/monthly journal entries related to member billing activity, chapter payments, corporation loans, and housing/furnishing fund transfers. • Process refunds/credits and carry out monthly bank reconciliations for the organization, local house corporations, and participating chapters. • Complete monthly journal entries for credit card expenditures and prepare monthly reports and dashboards for local house corporations. • Ensure the organization has up-to-date W-9s and COIs for all vendors and manage the security deposit process for participating corporations. • Handle monthly invoicing of shared expenses to Sorority and Foundation and manage the positive pay process with the bank. • Assist with various accounting and finance projects as needed. Requirements • A minimum of 1 year experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations • Practical knowledge of General Ledger maintenance • Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries • Experience with Month End Close procedures • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis • Familiarity with Blackbaud's nonprofit management tools • Experience with Financial Edge software or similar accounting software Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
