Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience in general accounting and will support key financial operations, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end close activities. This role offers the unique opportunity to work closely with our FP& A team, gaining exposure to budgeting and forecasting processes. Staff Accountant Responsibilities: + Perform accurate and timely account reconciliations, ensuring alignment with company policies and standards. + Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger. + Assist with month-end close activities, including variance analysis and reporting. + Reconcile cash accounts to ensure proper recording of all transactions. + Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and answering queries. + Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting processes and procedures. + Collaborate with the FP& A team on budgeting and forecasting efforts to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial goals. Requirements Staff Accountant Requirements: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting + 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the energy or midstream sector. + Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail. + Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
