The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities
Essential Functions:
• Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all GL accounts
• Performs general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel
• Maintain and update records and reports for profit and loss, taxes, liabilities, and asset
• Produce daily/monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting
• Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Provides supports to all department with general ledger transactions and financial statement
• Identify opportunities for process automatization in accounting department
• Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
• Provides support with 1099s, W2 and other annual external reporting
• Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software
• Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function
• Misc task as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Attention to accuracy and detail required
• Accounting experience is preferred
• Must be organized and neat
• Must be able to perform independent research
• Fast learner, results oriented, self-driven
