Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team, primarily operating in the real estate industry, based in Portland, Maine. Engaging in a contract to permanent employment opportunity, your primary function will involve providing support to our Accounting Managers with various accounting duties ranging from accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank/account reconciliations, and reporting. Responsibilities: • Execute filing of 1099’s annually • Respond to vendor inquiries and manage centralized invoice emails • Assist with the monthly closing process and year-end processes • Oversee company credit card use and charge appropriate entities • Handle accounts payable and receivable, sorting invoices and entering into the accounting system • Prepare and mail vendor checks and payments for approved requisitions • Carry out bank reconciliations and reconciliations for credit cards associated with multiple entities • Support report and budget completion and assist with distributions as needed • Aid in tracking of project expenses and assist with new project invoices • Undertake CAM billing and reconciliations for commercial properties • Collect vendor invoices for monthly construction requisitions and prepare bank deposits. Requirements • Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) • Prior experience in Commercial Real Estate is highly desirable • Strong bookkeeping skills are necessary • Demonstrated experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar • Advanced knowledge of accounting software and spreadsheet software • Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting principles • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • High attention to detail and accuracy in work • Good organizational and time management skills • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information • Strong interpersonal and communication skills Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
