Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team located in Hackensack, New Jersey. The Staff Accountant will be an integral part of our non-profit organization, focusing on ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting and finance functions. Responsibilities • Facilitate the processing of invoices, manage vendor records, and guarantee timely payments as part of the accounts payable and vendor management tasks. • Oversee corporate credit card transactions, including tracking, categorizing, and reconciling them. • Handle the processing of payroll and the recording of related journal entries. • Assist in the month-end close processes and perform reconciliations. • Generate financial and operational reports as required. • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting. • Review and reconcile employee expense reports in compliance with policies. • Provide support for various finance-related projects and special initiatives. Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. • Proven experience as a staff accountant, preferably in the non-profit sector. • Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly QuickBooks. • Strong understanding of the General Ledger and Journal Entries. • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). • Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently. • Experience in executing month end close procedures. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Commitment to adhering to strict confidentiality and ethical standards.
