Description Join a prestigious law firm in New York City as a Staff Accountant and become a key part of the finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in legal accounting while supporting the firm’s financial operations. Key Responsibilities: + Assist with the month-end close process, including preparing and posting journal entries. + Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial transactions. + Maintain and track fixed assets, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation schedules. + Assist with general ledger reconciliations and financial reporting. + Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed. + Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Requirements Qualifications: + 1-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment. + Strong knowledge of month-end close, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and fixed assets accounting. + Proficiency in accounting software and Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups preferred). + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
