Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Laredo, TX. This role will be pivotal in supporting our accounting processes and reports, primarily focusing on the logistics and transportation sector. Responsibilities: • Accurately and efficiently process assigned transaction areas, adhering to company policies. • Support the daily accounting operations, including account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. • Provide expertise in accounting systems specific to the transportation and logistics industry. • Collaborate with various departments, including operations and fleet management, to ensure comprehensive financial reporting. • Maintain data integrity for financial statements associated with logistics and transportation operations. • Address inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders regarding processed transactions, such as transportation invoices and logistics overheads. • Assist in internal and external audits, including financial statement audits and compliance reviews relevant to transportation regulations. • Take part in special projects or process improvement initiatives as assigned. • Monitor and resolve issues specific to the transportation industry, such as freight costs. • Utilize your strong knowledge of logistics and transportation-related accounting processes to provide daily support. Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Accountant. • Accounting Degree required • Experience with Bank Reconciliations is required. • The candidate should have a strong understanding of the General Ledger. • The ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries is necessary. • Experience in handling Month End Close activities is a must. • Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software is desirable. • Proficiency in Oracle software is beneficial. • Experience with QuickBooks accounting software is a plus. • Knowledge of SAP software is advantageous.
