Staff Accountant
Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial documents and company management reports, preparation and recording of financial transactions and performing standard month end closing procedures and account reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the financial statements, preparing reports for external auditors and identifying cost-savings opportunities across the company. Overview of Responsibilities ● Successful execution of the month-end accounting close maintaining a high level of accuracy while complying with established deadlines ● Review and post daily sales summary journal entries from “Toast” POS ● Reconcile “Toast” POS sales to general ledger monthly to ensure proper booking of revenue ● Review cash activity to ensure transactions are properly authorized and recorded and to identify expected transactions not posting our bank account ● Perform bank reconciliations for assigned bank accounts ● For concerts and private events, ensure proper revenue recognition and completeness of expenses are recorded to general ledger and reconcile to source documents and expected results from the “concert totals” summary or private event’s “tripleseat” reporting ● Review and scrutinize income statement account activity monthly, including miscellaneous revenue, cost of goods sold, payroll, operating and occupancy costs, for assigned locations ● Detail and scrutinize balance sheet accounts monthly and record needed updates to ensure account integrity. Accounts include (but not limited to) prepaid expenses, performer deposits, undeposited funds, accrued expenses and deferred revenue ● Prepare and maintain schedules supporting recorded amounts to be leveraged by internal and external parties, such as financial auditors ● Actively communicate with internal and external parties connected to your assigned locations to effectively execute your duties and facilitate process corrections when necessary ● Additional tasks, duties or ad hoc projects as per business need Minimum Qualifications ● Minimum of 5 years' experience in a professional accounting role, and/or equivalent relevant experience ● Bachelor’s degree in accounting required ● Professional and effective interpersonal, communication, and listening skills across all levels of workforce ● Proficient computer skills and competency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Outlook. ● Must be detail oriented with particular strength in time management and organization ● Ability to manage multiple priorities and produce deliverables with a high level of accuracy within strict deadlines ● Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; stand and walk regularly ● Strong data entry and word processing skills ● Prior experience with Restaurant365 a plus About Us Wine, food, and live entertainment collide at City Winery to create a dynamic and incredibly unique workplace.
