Description We are urgently hiring for a Staff Accountant position located in Newark, New Jersey. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of accounting duties, including maintaining accurate and timely records, processing transactions, and performing financial analysis. This position lies within a high-volume environment where efficiency, attention to detail, and independent work are highly valued. The ideal candidate must have detail oriented accounting experience along with strong technical skills. This position offers a hybrid schedule, all candidates must be commutable to Newark, NJ minimum once a week! Job Responsibilities Include: Oversee the Accounts Payable mailbox and module, managing employee expenses, virtual cards, and corporate card reimbursements. Conduct general accounting tasks and related duties for the organization. Analyze the General Ledger and Balance Sheet on a monthly basis. Handle the allocation of major vendor expenses. Perform monthly bank account reconciliations, verify deposits, and respond to inquiries from banks Assist external auditors by providing necessary account information and documents for annual audits Support the monthly financial close process, including the preparation of account reconciliations Stay updated with acceptable accounting practices and procedures Assist with special projects and respond to ad hoc requests when necessary Requirements Qualifications & Benefits: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance and reporting Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries Experience in managing Month End Close procedures Must have experience utilizing large ERP software (preferably Sage Intacct) Benefits available (medical, dental, vision) Hybrid flexibility Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
