POSITION SUMMARY: Growth Orthopedics is seeking a Staff Accountant to work in a dynamic environment supporting local Orthopedic Practices and the corporate MSO headquarters. We are looking for long-term team members who will embrace the company’s ethics and can assist us in our continued planning and execution of our Strategic and Operational plans. This position will report to the Growth Orthopedics Director of Accounting while maintaining dotted line responsibility to the assigned Practice Administrator(s). It will also have significant exposure to experienced physician partners and executive team members of the MSO. PROFILE SNAPSHOT: Employment Type Full-time Job Type Staff Accountant Location Remote; Central or Eastern time zone highly preferred Education Required: Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in accounting, finance, economics, or statistics. Experience Minimum of two years’ accounting experience. Sage Intacct software experience highly preferred. Healthcare financial management experience highly preferred. Certifications/Licenses CPA track is desired, but not required Manages Others No Travel N/A Industry Healthcare RESPONSIBILITES: Manage all A/P transactions, including invoice approvals, expense coding, vendor setup, and payment execution through MineralTree AP Automation. Ensure timely and accurate disbursements. Oversee accrual accounting functions, including preparing monthly accruals, reconciling prepaid expenses, and ensuring financials reflect accurate revenue and expense recognition. Record revenue Cash and Accrual accounting Maintain the general ledger by recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting under both cash and accrual basis accounting. Prepare month-end close activities, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Support audits and compliance efforts, preparing documentation and reports as needed for internal and external auditors. Assist with financial analysis and forecasting, contributing to annual budgeting and cost analysis. Prepare/maintain documentation for standard reporting processes and procedures and assists in developing and improving formal documentation processes. Assist other team members in the department and the executive team as needed. REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS: Strong understanding of GAAP principles, cash vs. accrual basis accounting, and month-end closing procedures. Experience with MineralTree or similar AP automation software to streamline payment processing and improve efficiency. Ability to work collaboratively across finance and operation teams. Ability to identify discrepancies, propose solutions, and work proactively to resolve vendor payment and reconciliation issues. Proficient in data analyses using spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications, and can translate financial understanding into operational initiatives to be reviewed and implemented by the operations teams as appropriate.
