Staff Accountant
Description We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant for our client based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. As a Staff Accountant, your role will encompass a variety of tasks, including maintaining the accuracy of general ledgers, processing accounts payable, and preparing financial reports and budgets. This role is integral in ensuring the financial stability and transparency of our operations within the industry. Responsibilities: + Maintain accuracy and completeness of the general ledger by ensuring proper attention to detail during financial recordkeeping. + Oversee and monitor monthly billing processes, assist in budget preparation, and provide support for financial planning across various programs. + Prepare monthly financial journal entries, generate comprehensive financial reports, and assist auditors in reviewing contract-related financial documentation. + Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements with checking accounts to ensure accuracy and alignment. + Process accounts payable by securing necessary approvals and ensuring proper general ledger account coding is applied. + Reconcile general ledger accounts related to revenue receivables and payroll payables on a regular basis. + Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, and participate in board meetings to ensure accurate documentation of meeting discussions and decisions. + Update software rates, research billing discrepancies, and generate aging reports for self-pay and third-party payers. + Provide timely and accurate assistance with "Prepared by Client" documentation for annual financial statement audits. + Submit, review, approve, and process payroll while maintaining compliance with organizational policies. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes • Experience with Bank Reconciliations • Strong understanding of General Ledger management • Ability to perform Journal Entries accurately and efficiently • Experience with Month End Close procedures • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel • Knowledge of accounting software, such as QuickBooks • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
