Staff Accountant
Job Title: Staff Accountant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, and a strong proficiency in Excel. This role involves performing reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and providing exceptional customer service. You will work closely with internal departments and external contacts to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all accounting operations. Responsibilities + Research and reconcile bank deposits, wires, and MIP payments. + Prepare daily cash reconciliation to accurately depict cash positions in various bank operating accounts. + Perform credit card reconciliations. + Prepare and document month-end journal entries. + Reconcile accounts and perform various financial analyses as assigned. + Oversee and assist with daily accounts payable operations. + Manage accounts receivable, including preparing mortgage statements and posting invoices. + Provide mortgage payment history reports to the Post-Closing department as requested. + Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. + Deliver excellent customer service to internal departments and external contacts. + Work on special assignments as assigned. + Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Essential Skills + 2+ years of general ledger accounting experience with a degree or 3-4+ years without a degree. + Experience supporting month, quarter, and year-end close processes. + Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs. + Initiative and problem-solving skills. + Personable and professional demeanor with strong customer service skills. + High level of attention to detail. + Excellent communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is highly preferred. + Experience with MS Dynamix (Loan Vision) or any Tier 2 ERP. + Familiarity with reconciliation processes, mortgage accounting, and financial statement preparation. + Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). + Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet departmental deadlines. + Proficiency in computer use and relevant software applications. + Experience with Loan Vision Accounting Software and QuickBooks is a plus. + High standards of ethics and personal accountability. Work Environment Our team is small and close-knit, where everyone is willing to step in and support each other without being asked. The role is based in Lake Oswego, OR, and requires full-time in-office work. The team currently consists of four members and will expand to five with this new addition. The work hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a flexible start time within reason. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
