Description We are in search of a diligent Staff Accountant who will be an integral part of our team in Tampa, Florida. The selected candidate will be the sole accountant for our trucking industry operations. This job presents a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Accurate and timely timesheet entry for all employees. • Collaboration with PEO company for timesheet information submission. • Efficient handling of weekly payroll journal entries based on data from PEO company. • Ensuring timely payment of invoices. • Review and processing of capital project invoices. • Management of incoming customer payments and application to the correct accounts. • Execution of bank reconciliations. • Performing balance sheet reconciliations. • Management of fixed assets including setting up assets and depreciation entries. • Processing of Sales & Use tax. • Creation and review of financial statements. • Utilization of Excel and Pro CD (proprietary system) for various tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and management. • Demonstrated experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR). • Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and promptly. • Profound understanding of General Ledger maintenance and operations. • Skilled in recording and managing Journal Entries. • Experience in performing Month End Close tasks efficiently. • Knowledge in managing Fixed Assets in a business setting. • Familiarity with Tax - Sales & Use procedures and regulations. • Ability to handle Weekly Payroll operations effectively. • Capability to Prepare Financial Statements accurately and timely.
