Description We are offering a Contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry based in Chicago, Illinois. As a Staff Accountant, you will be tasked with a variety of financial responsibilities, including the management of receivables, payables, and payroll. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing support to property management and maintenance staff. Responsibilities: • Manage daily financial operations such as receivables, which includes rent collection and payables • Handle deposits and perform reconciliations • Provide support for tax preparation and related tasks • Oversee monthly payroll for a small team, including handling payroll tax payments • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports • Maintain accurate accounting files • Manage petty cash and equity portfolio • Participate in budgeting processes • Utilize software like QuickBooks, SAP, and Oracle for financial management tasks • Provide support to property management and maintenance staff Requirements • Possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management • Demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations • Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries • Experience in conducting Month End Close procedures • Strong skills in QuickBooks Online • Prior experience in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry is preferred • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
